MEET TASHA OUR MARKETING DIRECTOR

 MEET TASHA OUR MARKETING DIRECTOR

TASHA & HER FAMILY

From TASHA:
Hello I’m Tasha!  When I’m not in the studio with Cara you will probably find me in a hockey rink cheering on my two boys or out and about shopping.  With a background in event planning, I love a good party and savor all the little details.  Since I was a little girl I’ve been known to be a social butterfly but enjoy nothing more than a peaceful morning coffee, alone.  Can you tell I’m a Gemini?  I’m super chatty, love to laugh and drive my husband crazy because I’m always on the go.  I’m a middle child so decisiveness isn’t always my strong point but I make up for it with making people laugh.  I also usually have Us Weekly or People open on my phone to keep a pulse on the latest celebrity gossip and fashion trends.  Hope this gives you a little insight into who I am and I look forward to meeting all of you!  xo

Now Our Turn To Ask Her Some Questions:

Before working at So Pretty what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

After University I moved to Oita, Japan and taught English for a year.  I fell in love with the Japanese people and gained such respect for Japanese culture and their way of life.  I also got the chance to travel through Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Bali while I was over there.  Oh my, take me back...with my husband and boys this time!!!

What originally drew you to So Pretty?

Easy - Cara!!!  As most of you know as soon as you meet Cara the love for what she does is contagious.  I was so drawn to her passion, creativity and the talent she has to design these pieces that are not only gorgeous but timeless.

What’s your favorite happy hour drink?

I wish I had some exotic answer here but I love a crisp Pinot Grigio in the summer and  a nice Malbec in the winter.

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?

What can I say, I love realty tv.  If RHONY and RHOBH could run year round I’d be happy.  I’m a Bachelor/Bachelorette fan but I must admit I always read the spoilers.  My son and I share the love for Big Brother and my realtor husband and I binge watch Selling New York.

What’s your go to midnight snack?

Hmmm well I’ve never met a potato chip I don’t like.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

I’ve been so lucky to have received some pretty special gifts but when I moved to Japan my sister had just found out she was pregnant.  We were heartbroken I would miss everything so my brother in law secretly flew me home to surprise my sister when my niece was born.  It was one of the best gifts I’ve ever received even though it was really a gift for my sister.  The generosity of my BIL and the chance to spend that precious time with my sister and new niece is something I will never forget.  Oh it gives me goosebumps thinking about it.

If you could have a superpower what would it be?

I’ve been asked this by my son a million times so after much discussion with him I think it would be - to be invisible.

Do you have a favorite quote?

Though it’s a well known one I’ve always loved ‘go confidently in the direction of your dreams.  Live the life you’ve imagined’  - Thoreau

Who is your hero?

My hero would be my dad.  From always being impeccably dress, to a leader in his profession, to always being there with just the right fatherly advice makes him an easy choice and worthy of hero status.

What is your favorite thing about your career?

I feel so grateful for the exclusive experiences I’ve had the privilege of being part of.  Most recently, I loved getting an all access pass to the process behind the opening of So Pretty’s first boutique and the unforgettable trip to Jaipur India with Cara this spring.  It was amazing to get a first hand look at the unbelievable process behind how each So Pretty piece is made.

Favorite local Edmonton business?

There are so many local YEG businesses succeeding it’s hard to choose just one.  Here are a few of my favorites.  Pura Botanicals is out of this world decadent - hello watermelon mask.  Red Ribbon (like the kids say) is so on point...just take my wallet and Poppy Barley is the star of my wish list.

Favorite local Edmonton restaurant?

For nostalgic reasons I love Julio’s Barrio because that is where my husband and I met while we were servingup burritos and margaritas.❤️
